A Collaboration of Artistic Expression

In this project, I crafted the digital and print creative for the second release of The Prisoner x Corrections, applying senior design and art direction leadership to facilitate the presentation of Jesse Krimes' renowned artwork, "Apokaluptein: 16389067," beyond its original placement on our Magnum 1.5L bottle.

Jesse Krimes, a Philadelphia-based artist and co-founder of Right of Return USA, leveraged his experience serving a six-year prison sentence to create a thought-provoking piece exploring the impact of contemporary media on societal structures. His iconic work, featured on the Corrections label, was made using pages from the New York Times applied to prison bedsheets with hair gel – a testament to the transformative power of creation within the corrections system.

Overall, I aimed to align my design work with the inspiration behind Jesse's artwork. Using a paper craft material from The Prisoner brand, I aimed to showcase the lighter side of our identity while emphasizing the theme of beauty emerging from darkness. The label art serves as a true statement piece, symbolizing the creative uplift of individuals from the confines of society. While spearheading all of our marketing collateral for this campaign, my design approach aimed to echo Jesse Krimes' message of resilience and the humanizing power of art within the corrections system.
